HIT 209 - International Classification of Disease (ICD) Coding II

This course introduces the student to the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification and International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Procedure Coding System. Emphasis is placed on applying ICD-10-CM classification codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes to hospital/medical records while adhering to official guidelines, conventions, and federal rules and regulations. Students gain practical experience in the application of ICD-10-CM/PCS codes using both manual and computerized methods.
Prerequisite(s): HIT 208
