CJ 119 - The Court Function This course is designed to cover arguments over the nature of justice. The course includes a brief history of the development of the Anglo-American legal system; basic tenets of American criminal law and procedure; the organization of courts, the powers, selection, training and professional orientation of key court personnel. This course will describe the steps in the Criminal Justice process from arrest through the appeal; current developments in court technology and administration; and issues related to the discretion of court officials. Prerequisite(s): None 3 credits = 3 lecture
