CERTIFICATE
Graphic design merges computer-aided technology with visual thought. Students in the Graphic Design certificate program at St. Clair County Community College will learn to solve visual communication problems through a comprehensive program of study that incorporates typography, animation, print production and entry-level web design. Courses completed will support transfer to other institutions and offer entry-level training in the field of digital media design.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES:
When students complete this program, they will be able to:
- demonstrate creative and aesthetic talents with a visual body of work.
- present professional skills and behaviors to compete as a graphic designer in the current marketplace.
- solve creative problems that can connect with an intended audience using visual, oral and written presentation skills.
- evaluate and execute visual work using professional terminology based on an understanding of art and design.
