ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED ARTS AND SCIENCE DEGREE
Marketing is a critical function within any organization as it generates top-line revenue; all other functions are costs. This degree will allow students to secure employment in the field of internet marketing, sales, advertising, public relations, promotions management, retailing and customer service. Study is applicable to both entrepreneurs and those wishing to join the corporate environment.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES:
When students complete this program, they will be able to:
- explain the role marketing plays in both individual companies and our economic system
- identify potential market segments and develop a marketing strategy and mix appropriate to the target segment
- identify marketing research needed to confirm overall marketing strategy
- demonstrate the use of internet marketing and social media as part of the marketing mix
- demonstrate the ability to make a compelling sales presentation using professional tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and situation
- analyze the various aspects of consumer behavior as it applies to the purchase decision
- enhance and evaluate advertising as a means of driving sales and awareness
- analyze real world business problems and be able to formulate, present and defend a solution.
