Do you need computer skills to help you get started in the business workplace? Already have a job, but want to improve your current business technology skills? Want to add some valuable computer credentials to another degree? The Computer Information Systems - Applications for Business certificate is an excellent addition to your resume.

Students completing the Computer Information Systems - Applications for Business certificate program complete a selection of courses in computer applications, business and web development. Students earning this certificate can continue on to earn other degrees at St. Clair County Community College, including any of the CIS degrees.

INDUSTRIAL CERTIFICATION

College credit may be given for earned industry certifications in Computer Information Systems topics.

Credit may be granted for students with current certifications. For questions or a complete list of currently accepted industry certifications and equivalent CIS courses, please call the Business and Information Technologies division at 810-989-5575, or check with an advisor.

 

PROGRAM OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES:

When students complete this program, they will be able to:

  1. plan and implement a spreadsheet for a business application containing formulas, functions, and macros
  2. develop and document a solution to a business problem using an object-oriented computer programming or web-scripting language
  3. create a web site using current standards including cascading style sheets, links, images, forms and canned script.
