ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED ARTS AND SCIENCE DEGREE
One of the most rapidly expanding areas in modern industry is the field of electronics. There is an ever-increasing demand by industry for trained electronics technicians to assist in the development, maintenance, testing, and repair of modern electronic equipment. This course work provides the technical knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level employment in industry as technicians in electronics layout, instrumentation, design, lab work, field service, or as an engineering aide. Technicians may also install microcomputers, maintain communications equipment, write technical reports, or work in sales and service of instrumentation equipment.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES:
When students complete this program, they will be able to:
- understand specific laws, formulas, and concepts used in alternating current, direct current, and digital circuits
- design, construct, and analyze electronic circuits, containing linear variable differential transformers, “LVDT”, triacs and silicon controlled rectifiers, “SCR” used in both alternating current and direct current electronic devices
- program a microcontroller and build electronic circuits that control electronic devices.

3rd Semester - 18 Credit/26 - 31 Contact Hours
4th Semester - 15 Credit/20 - 26 Contact Hours

* Students have the option of taking MTH 110 or MTH 112 or higher as a replacement for ETM 107 . Students who plan to transfer should contact an advisor and schedule an appointment. The advisor can help determine which mathematics credits will transfer to other colleges and universities, thus maximizing the transfer credits.
**Recommended Electives: CIS 120 , ETP 110 , ETP 210 , and/or the combined ETW 101 , ETW 110 and ETW 120 .
