HIS 297 - American Women’s History This course is a historical view of American women. It begins with a discussion of women from the time of British settlement on this continent. Emphasis is placed on the major periods of change, the accomplishments, and the contributions of women in America, beginning with the convention at Seneca Falls. Some other areas that receive particular attention are the post Civil War period, the Progressive Era, Women’s Suffrage, the effects of the two world wars and their aftermath, and women’s changing role in a changing world. Prerequisite(s): None 3 credits = 3 lecture
