Skill Set
This skill set is designed for students who wish to seek careers in the law enforcement fields of Criminal Justice. Students seeking this skill set will take classes designed to prepare them for careers in policing at the local, state, and federal law enforcement levels. It should be noted that law enforcement agencies have differing entrance requirements, and students pursuing such careers should research the minimal qualifications of the law enforcement agencies before seeking employment.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES:
When students complete this program, they will be able to:
- describe and explain the functions and procedures of policing in the United States
- demonstrate the ability for complete investigations and take enforcement actions based on the demonstrated skills
- identify the dangers and challenges found in policing professions
- identify the causes of crime and social problems in society, as well as the roles of social programs in its prevention.
