ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED ARTS AND SCIENCE DEGREE
The Accounting degree prepares students for positions in the field of accounting. It prepares them to obtain accounting jobs in bookkeeping, tax preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger processing, and managerial accounting. The program combines an in-depth study of accounting concepts with applying the principles in a business context.
Students completing this course of study will be able to complete the accounting cycle for service, merchandising, and manufacturing firms that are sole proprietorships, partnerships, or corporations. Students will also be able to analyze and interpret financial data, assist in budgeting, support financial decision-making, and complete payroll-related transactions. Additionally, they can complete a complex individual tax return with supporting schedules and gain experience utilizing computerized general ledger software and spreadsheets to complete accounting tasks.
