ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED ARTS AND SCIENCE
If you hold a current State of Michigan Cosmetology License, you can earn twenty (20) elective credits toward the Cosmetology Management Program at St. Clair County Community College. Upon completing the Associate Degree Program, you’ll have the skills to open your salon or manage an existing one. This program can improve job performance and increase earning potential for those already working in the cosmetology field. It provides essential knowledge in business management, customer demographics, social behaviors, and health, complementing cosmetology education.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES:
When students complete this program, they will be able to:
- demonstrate a basic understanding of the principles of business and entrepreneurship.
- identify market segments and develop a marketing strategy appropriate to the target segment.
- demonstrate the ability to communicate with and manage employees effectively.
- demonstrate the application of the concepts of double-entry bookkeeping through the preparation of financial statements.

* Additional Requirements: Awarding of 20 credits based on evidence of a student’s valid State of Michigan Cosmetology license. Students must provide a copy of their valid State of Michigan Cosmetology license to the Registrar. Credit awarded is only applicable to the Cosmetology Management Associate degree program at St. Clair County Community College and will be posted to the student’s record upon completion of Cosmetology Management program requirements. 60 Total Credits/60 Total Contact Hours
