HIT 101 - Introduction to Health Information Technology

This course is designed to introduce the student to the HIT (Health Information Technology) profession and record keeping practices in healthcare. Emphasis will be placed on the role HIT professionals play in healthcare organizations, as well as health information infrastructure, record content in both electronic and paper records, documentation requirements, healthcare data sets, healthcare statistics and an introduction to technology in HIT.
