HIT 202 - Quality Management & Regulatory Compliance

In this course, students will be exposed to the quality management methodologies currently used in healthcare, with emphasis placed on the role of the Health Information Technologist. Areas covered will include regulatory and oversight agencies, compliance surveys, quality management reporting, data analysis, statistics, utilization management, risk management, coding compliance, medical staff credentialing and the Electronic Health Record (EHR) interoperability mandates by the federal government.
