ART 250 - Modern and Contemporary Art This course examines the history of modern and contemporary art and visual culture from the mid-19th century to the present, exploring the development of key artistic movements such as Impressionism, Abstract Expressionism, and Minimalism, as well as broader historical frameworks like modernism and postmodernism. Students will engage with a diverse range of artistic disciplines while analyzing the impact of social, political, and technological shifts in shaping artistic production and historical narratives.
