SD 120 - Assertive Behavior This course is designed to help students learn to express beliefs, feelings, needs and preferences in an honest, direct and appropriate manner. Students will learn to distinguish between non-assertive, assertive and aggressive responses, as well as to identify the basic tenets of human rights. Assertive skills will be learned through techniques such as in-class discussion, lectures, reading material, and role playing. Personal application is an integral piece of the course. Prerequisite(s): None 1 credit = 1 lecture OC
