ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED ARTS AND SCIENCE DEGREE

The Graphic Design associate degree program integrates technology with creative problem-solving to build strong visual communication skills, merging traditional art with digital media. Through a blend of theory, hands-on practice, and industry-focused projects, students gain expertise in typography, branding, imaging, and graphics. Elective options in video, motion graphics, and web design encourage broader interests. Coursework supports transfer to various institutions and provides foundational training for careers in studio art, print design, and related fields.

 

PROGRAM OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES:

When students complete this program, they will be able to:

  1. demonstrate creative and aesthetic talents with a visual body of work.
  2. present professional skills and behaviors to compete as a graphic designer in the current marketplace.
  3. identify the influence of major cultural and aesthetic trends, both historical and contemporary in art and design.
  4. solve creative problems that can connect with an intended audience using visual, oral and written presentation skills.
  5. evaluate and execute visual work using professional terminology based on an understanding of art and design.
