MTH 1120 - Introduction to Statistics This is a beginning course in statistics that will be beneficial to students majoring any field in which measurements and predictions are made. Topics include: the uses and abuses of data, organization and presentation of date, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability, types of distributions (binomial, Poisson, and normal), sampling and sampling distributions, testing hypotheses, estimation, regression, and correlation. Prerequisite(s): MTH 1010 or MTH 1011 or MTH 1020 or appropriate placement by college assessment 4 credits = 4 lecture
