MTH 1121 - Introduction to Statistics with Algebra Support This is a beginning course in statistics that will be beneficial to students majoring any field in which measurements and predictions are made. To support this class, we include algebraic topics such as order of operations, intervals, linear and rational equations, graphing, square roots, and factorials. Course topics include: the uses and abuses of data, organization and presentation of date, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability, types of distributions (binomial, Poisson, and normal), sampling and sampling distributions, testing hypotheses, estimation, regression, and correlation. Prerequisite(s): None 4 credits, plus 2 contacts = 6 lecture
